Start on Monday ( 3 and 6 days) you should call us 2 days ahead of time (Friday or Saturday). We will give you the meeting place and make a last minute check on details/change

Bus /Transportation from Byns Camping in Ekshärad out to the different starting points leaves at 9.30 am. If you´ve stayed at the camping please ask where you should park during your trip. If you arrive from elsewhere in the morning please remember to park in designated area.

Bus/Transportation from Värnäs Camping. Comes from Ekshärad as soon as possible. Be there at 10.00. Delays can occur.

At Värnäs Camping parking is on the other side of road 62 (not in camping area) across from the entrance. The bus picks you up at the camping reception. Please be on time 10.00 am. If you miss these transports you must arrange all transportation at your own expense.
We recommend that you book a cabin/tent area a day ahead of your scheduled trip.

If you have any doubts about finding your meeting place then it is best to meet us in Ekshärad.
Because the rafts are continually in use from Ransby to Ekshärad we have 2 different starting points on the 3 day trips, Ransby to Värnäs or Värnäs to Ekshärd. Therefore you cannot choose your location as this depends on where the rafts are at that time. We will give you your starting place but we try to comply with your choice when it is possible. Reservations for trips can come suddenly and we sometimes have to reorganize so everyone can enjoy rafting.

STARTING POINT AND RAFT ASSIGNMENT---APPOINTING A FIRST MATE.

When you´ve received your raft, pack your equipment aboard the raft, (don´t start putting up tent or other things until we say so). The person chosen to be first mate (1 person per raft) goes directly to the guides for information on map usage, how safety equipment works and how the kitchen and tent equipment should be use and cared for. We may also test your knowledge on the law of PUBLIC ACCESS to the nature.
Make sure that all participants know of and understand this law. The first mate should also obtain the necessary fishing licenses if you intend to do any fishing.

We give you your information in groups/language. After that the first mate is responsible for informing and guiding the rest of his crew. He is also the one who contacts us if that becomes necessary during your trip. The first mate is our "extension" out during your journey and we "pay" him for this job with an 80 SEK rebate on his fee (this is pulled of from the cost of bustransportation). The first mate must be over 15 yrs of age.

DISTANCE AND TRAVEL TIME WITH CAR

Byns Camping in Ekshärad : In Ekshärad on route 62, you turn right by the church. Cross the bridge and follow the signs after the bridge. For reservations call +46 (0)563-40885 or +46 (0) 563 30196

Ransby by car : Follow route 62 to Ransby. Turn left and follow the village road a few hundred meters to the bridge. Cross over the bridge and the start location is to your right.

To Ransby over Branäs: Follow route 62 to the sign Branäs. Turn in towards the ski resort and cross the bridge.Turn right and after 1,5 -2 km you will come to Ransby starting point.

Ransby with your own bus: The bridge in Ransby can only take cars. Follow instructions to Branäs and continue north 1,5-2 km .You will see the Ransby bridge and the starting point.
Ransby start location have parking large enough for buses BUT we advise that you do not drive all the way down to the river when it has rained. Long term parking only with our permission.

Värnäs Camping: At the crossroad of routes 62/45 travel north on 62 for app 800 m. There is a sign. The camping is on the left. Reservations for cabin/tent site call +46 (0) 563-81355.

When you call us prior to your start day please remember to give kg weight for your lifevests ,kg weight/size for dog vests ,color and make of car and your registration number.Reservation of kitchen and camping equipment has to be made (if not already done).
On all one day trips starting point and times are given the day before.Call us for information.

Public Transport: From Stockholm and Gothenburg to Karlstad one can travel by bus or train. From Karlstad to Ekshärad,Värnäs,Branäs and Ransby you take bus 304 (Värmlandstrafik). From Stockholm and Dalarna you can also take the train and bus/railbus to Malung and from there bus 316 to Värnäs.
